After a decade as a graphic designer and illustrator, she transitioned her talents from the digital to the dimensional. In addition to designing and making her own clothes, Lisa set out to design hand-crafted, elegantly functional hardware for homes. Her hands-on approach to design isn’t just a feature of her work—it’s her entire work ethic. From original pattern drawings to individual fabrication, Lisa authors every detail with exacting precision. Every product she touches is an original masterpiece. Even the Flopping Fish name is her unique creation. After leaving New York and moving to Seattle, she felt like a fish out of water, not sure if she would flounder or fly. Instead, she soared, and her statement became not only a fitting expression for herself, but the perfect name for her successful company.

Meet Tracy Bliss. She’s Lisa Young’s right-hand woman and the company’s left-brain thinker. Tracy handles everything from order placement to production and everything in between. In addition to her degree in art and interior design, her prior experience as an artists’ liaison for Fireworks craft gallery gives her a unique understanding to all sides of Flopping Fish. In addition to handling both front and back-end responsibilities, she researches trends to ensure Flopping Fish products are always au courant.
